Thai Ridgeback mix in Auburn, Washington For Sale

This is Gideon. He is 3 years old, neutered, utd on shots, and healthy. We rescued him at 1 year old. I do not want to rehome him, but sadly I have to. He is an unhappy and depressed soul, due to us having another dog in the home. I have to kennel him just to get him to eat. His hair is thin and he is underweight. We have tried for two years to get him out of this 'funk', but its not working.
He needs to be in an only dog household, not because of aggression, but because he is so submissive. Although he is submissive to other dogs in the house, he is incredibly protective of his human. He is an amazing dog and has been around my three children since my son was 1. He is great with people of all shapes, sizes, age and ethnicity. He just wants to be loved.
His worst attributes is that he jumps on people in his excitement to say hello, barks at other dogs at the dog park also in his excitement to be there, barks at the doorbell, knocking, birds and squirrels, lol. We got a bark collar and that works well.
Because of his short hair coat he CANNOT be an outdoor dog. My dream for him would be with an active single person who hikes or runs. He often went camping with us and does amazing off leash. Has great recall. Never runs off. He would also do great with an active family with lots of room to run and who camp. Or even an apartment, as long as his owner took him out to get his energy out. His is kennel trained and loves his kennel and does not do anything destructive when left alone. I trust him loose in the house all the time. It's my other dog who is so mischievous.
I love him SO much. But, for his best interest, I need to give him the chance to be happy.
